Overview

Addiction research and therapy focuses on improving our understanding of addiction and the psychological and behavioural mechanisms underlying it, as well as developing a range of interventions to help those affected. It seeks to reduce the harms associated with substance misuse, including physical health problems, mental health issues, crime and social exclusion. Addiction research and therapy can play an important role in helping people to overcome addiction, regain control of their lives and live more productive, satisfying and healthy lives.
