Editor’s Guidelines

Upholding standards of excellence in clinical oncology publishing.

The role of a JHOR Editor is to ensure the scientific integrity and clinical relevance of every published manuscript. These guidelines assist our editorial team in conducting rigorous, impartial assessments.

Manuscript Evaluation Checklist

Title & Abstract

Ensure the title is concise and relevant. The abstract must clearly state the hypothesis, methodology, summarized results, and clinical findings.

Scientific Methodology

  • Is the study population well-described?
  • Have ethical approvals (IRB/Animal care) been documented?
  • Is the statistical analysis appropriate for the study design?
  • Can the methodology be replicated based on the details provided?

Results & Discussion

Results should be logically organized with complete tables and figures. The discussion must revisit the hypothesis, acknowledge study limitations, and suggest future research directions.

Ethical Obligations

Editors are required to evaluate submissions impartially, based solely on merit. Confidentiality must be maintained throughout the review process. If a conflict of interest exists, the Editor must recuse themselves and arrange for another qualified individual to manage the manuscript.

We encourage Editors to provide clear, actionable feedback. If a paper is rejected, please state the reasons transparently and guide authors toward potential improvements or relevant services like our Language Editing Service.
