Abdominal Ultrasound

An abdominal ultrasound is a medical imaging test used to evaluate the organs and structures in the abdominal cavity. This test is non-invasive, painless, and usually done in an outpatient setting. It is used to diagnose a variety of conditions, including gallstones, kidney stones, liver masses, pancreatitis, and inflammation. The ultrasound can also detect fluid in the abdomen, abdominal tumors, and urinary tract blockages. Abdominal ultrasounds provide detailed images of the abdominal structures and organs, and can often provide diagnostic information more quickly and cost-effectively than other tests. Abdominal ultrasound can be a useful tool in determining the cause of abdominal pain, detecting tumors or other abnormal growths, evaluating the effectiveness of treatments, and monitoring the progression of certain diseases.
