Core Responsibilities

Manuscript Assessment

Evaluate submissions for scientific merit, clinical relevance, methodological rigor, and contribution to lactation science. Determine scope fit before initiating review.

Reviewer Selection

Identify qualified lactation researchers, IBCLCs, and clinicians without conflicts of interest. Balance laboratory and clinical perspectives.

Decision Authority

Make accept, revise, or reject decisions based on reviewer reports and independent judgment. Provide clear, constructive feedback to authors.

Timeline Management

Maintain efficient processing. Lactation researchers value rapid publication—ensure timely reviewer invitations and decisions.

Ethical Conduct

  • Recuse from manuscripts with formula company or personal conflicts
