State the study focus precisely. Summarize the objective, design or methods, principal findings, and conclusion without overstating what the evidence establishes.
Define the scientific or clinical problem, the evidence gap, and the objective or hypothesis.
Describe participants or models, specimens, procedures, measurements, quality controls, outcomes, software, and statistical analysis in enough detail for evaluation and reproducibility.
Report findings in a logical order, distinguish prespecified from exploratory analyses, and present effect estimates and uncertainty where relevant.
Interpret the results against the study question and existing evidence. Address limitations, alternative explanations, generalizability, and the boundary between association and demonstrated clinical benefit.
Check every citation for completeness and consistency, including persistent identifiers where available.
Make the biological context, measurement process, validation stage, and limits of inference explicit.
Consult the EQUATOR Network and apply an appropriate guideline where relevant, such as REMARK, STARD, TRIPOD, CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, or ARRIVE. Include the completed checklist when the submission system requests it.
Include the declarations relevant to the work and ensure they agree across the manuscript and submission form.
Complete, internally consistent files allow the editorial team to assess the work as submitted.
