The Journal of Cancer Genetics and Biomarkers (JCGB) publishes research on the genetic, genomic, and molecular basis of cancer and on the discovery and validation of cancer biomarkers — from laboratory mechanism to translational and clinical application. Published by Open Access Pub, continuously since 2014.
Connecting molecular mechanism to clinical translation
JCGB exists to connect the molecular understanding of cancer to its clinical translation. The journal publishes work that moves from mechanism — how tumours arise, evolve, and resist treatment — to measurable biomarkers that inform diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy selection.
In doing so, it supports the wider effort to make oncology more precise, more molecularly grounded, and more directly informed by genetic and genomic evidence — giving cancer-genetics and biomarker research a dedicated, permanent, open-access record.

Scope clarification
JCGB prioritises studies with a genomic, molecular, or biomarker foundation. Clinical diagnosis, patient management, treatment outcomes, and therapy protocols are considered when they integrate molecular or biomarker analyses, mechanistic insight, or validated translational endpoints. Purely descriptive clinical reports without a genomic, molecular, or biomarker component are outside the journal's scope.
