Editorial Policies
Ensuring integrity, transparency, and clinical excellence in oncology and hematology publishing.
Our Commitment to Scientific Rigor
Journal of Hematology and Oncology Research (JHOR) operates under a robust framework of editorial policies designed to maintain the highest standards of clinical evidence. These guidelines ensure that every published article is accurate, ethical, and broadly accessible to the global medical community.
By adhering to these standards, we ensure that research findings are reliable, reproducible, and ready for clinical application.
JHOR is a fully open-access journal. We believe clinical findings should be free for all—including clinicians, researchers, and patients. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing for unrestricted reuse and clinical dissemination provided the original work is properly cited.
Open access accelerates the translation of research from the laboratory to the bedside, fostering more immediate improvements in patient care and oncology diagnostics.
To ensure objectivity, JHOR utilizes a rigorous single-blind peer review process by default. However, we respect author preferences; researchers may request a double-blind review by omitting identifying information from the manuscript and including it only in the cover letter.
Every submission is evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts, ensuring that only research with significant clinical or theoretical value is accepted for publication.
Human Subjects
Authors must obtain informed consent from all participants. Confidentiality is paramount. Ethics approval from institutional review boards (IRBs) must be clearly stated in the Methods section.
Animal Research
Experiments involving animals must adhere to international regulations. Precautionary measures and ethical justifications must be documented to avoid legal or scientific misconduct.
Trial Compliance
We strongly encourage the registration of clinical trials in public databases (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov) before commencement, aligning with international standards for clinical transparency.
JHOR aligns with the guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the ICMJE. We maintain zero tolerance for ethical breaches:
- Plagiarism: All submissions are screened via CrossCheck and iThenticate to ensure original content.
- Simultaneous Submission: Submitting research to multiple journals simultaneously is considered ethical misconduct and results in immediate rejection.
- Data Falsification: Intentional manipulation of data to achieve desired results is a serious breach and will be reported to the author's institution.
Transparency is a clinical necessity. Authors must disclose all financial support received for their research. This information is featured prominently in both online and PDF versions of the article. Similarly, all authors must declare potential conflicts of interest that could influence results or interpretations.
Should errors be identified post-publication, JHOR follows COPE protocols to issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions. We utilize CrossMark to signal the current status of every published work.
